D2 Center Career Experience Workshop: Culinary Arts at The Grey Plume, Thurs. May 31, 2012 11 AM-1:30 PM

This Thursday, D2 Center students who participate in the Careers and Community Engagement Class will visit the award-winning Grey Plume restaurant to learn about culinary careers. Our host for the workshop is Chef and Owner Clayton Chapman, who will give a brief Grey Plume overview and then bring students into the kitchen to make lunch.

This is a unique opportunity to visit a cutting-edge restaurant that has caught the eye of national publications including Time magazine, Bon Appétit, Wired, and New York Magazine, not to mention our very own Omaha World-Herald, among others.

The Grey Plume serves local meats and produce and focuses on green practices, from their building materials and energy use to recycling, and more. The Grey Plume is the first Green Restaurant Association 4-Star Sustainabuild™ restaurant in the country and has accumulated more points than any other Certified Green Resturant®. Learn more on their website.

The Grey Plume is at Midtown Crossing in Omaha, 220 S. 31st Ave, Suite 3101.

If you are interested in joining the D2 Center Careers and Community Engagement Class and attending the Grey Plume Career Experience Workshop, please contact Mr. Varas (text: 402-214-4461 or comment on our D2 Center Students page on Facebook).
