D2 Center Better Family Health Open House, July 2018

Eleven D2 Center students enrolled this summer in an elective credit class “Better Family Health” under the guidance of certified teachers Ms. Clem Bell and Ms. Dianne Kielniarz. One of the goals of the class is for students to prepare a project and presentation on a health issue of choice. Most students select topics that have directly impacted them or someone in their family. On Friday, July 13, students made presentations to family members and D2 Center staff members during an Open House and did a fantastic job! Some of the topics were the importance of exercise and diet for seniors, diabetes, PTSD, multiple sclerosis, teen pregnancy/parenting, high blood pressure, and how mental health can effect physical health.

Earning that one last credit… Congrats, Alejandra!

Alejandra needed one last elective credit in order to earn her diploma this past summer, so she came to the D2 Center and took the class “Better Family Health” with teachers Clem Bell and Dianne Kielniarz. She earned her final credit and we celebrated her on July 17, 2017, at the D2 Center Board meeting and with classmates. D2 Center Literacy & Life Skills Class: Fri. July 21-Fri. Aug. 4, 2017 (9 a.m.-1:30 p.m. weekdays)
