Nebraska Digital Citizenship Week, April 23-28, 2012: be a great digital citizen!

by | Apr 18, 2012 | General

Next week is Nebraska Digital Citizenship Week, a time to remind students, parents and teachers of the importance of being a good digital citizen. Common Sense Media has put together a toolkit with activities for families, lesson plans for teachers, and more to educate students and parents about staying safe online. Download the toolkit from Common Sense Media.

Here at the D2 Center we incorporate lessons from Common Sense Media into some of our courses, reviewing privacy issues, the pros and cons of 24/7 media accessibility, and how to be safe and responsible in today’s media- and technology-focused world. If you’re interested in learning more about Common Sense Media, whether you’re a student, parent, or teacher, please visit their website. If you live in the Omaha area, contact DeLayne Havlovic at delayne.havlovic @ ops.org or 402-557-2610 for more information.
