Update 6/18/2013: the webinar recording and materials are now available, along with a recap post from AIR’s Marshal Conley, Community Manager for the Dropout Recovery and Prevention Online Community of Practice.

Partners in Dropout Recovery: Getting Creative to Find and Recruit Students is the first public dissemination event of the Dropout Prevention and Recovery Online Community of Practice, an online community of practitioner teams focused on improving outcomes for over-age, under-credited learners, with an emphasis on helping schools play a central role in dropout recovery through partnering with other community organizations.

In this hour-long webinar, three teams from the community will share their experiences implementing creative and innovative ways to find and re-engage the toughest to reach students who have dropped out of school. Presentations include:

Colorado Youth for a Change sharing their innovative text message and interactive online video campaign

Riverside County (CA) ROE Come Back Kids program discussing their creative strategies to scale outreach to potential students across a large geographic area and working with the larger school community

Portland Community Based Alternative Programs and Reconnection Services explaining efforts to find creative ways to keep the power of building meaningful personal relationships at the front of efforts to re-engage students

Register to attend and receive updates on programming, the event’s archive recording, and related materials and resources to be shared in advance of the event.
