CPR Class Recap, Nov. 2013

On November 8, 2013, seven D2 Center students participated in a CPR certification class at the D2 Center offered through Omaha AHEC (Area Health Education Center). We learned basic first aid including proper techniques to aid anyone choking and CPR for adults, children, and infants. Not only that, but students received hours towards an elective credit though the D2 Center Careers & Community Engagement Program. In fact, because of his previous C & CE work, D’an’Tre completed his credit that day! C & CE Project Coordinator Ebony and three D2 Center YANs (Cathy, Patrick and Kelsey) participated alongside their students, making this a true team effort focused on safety and relationship building.

The D2 Center is Hiring! Bilingual (Spanish) Youth Academic Navigator (YAN)

The D2 Center is seeking an experienced professional to join our team as a full-time Youth Academic Navigator (YAN). The individual selected must be bilingual (Spanish) and will be responsible for working with high-risk, high school-age youth as well as professionals in school districts and community-based organizations in Douglas and Sarpy County. The person will join the D2 Center team to engage disconnected youth and keep them on a pathway toward a high school diploma.
