D2 Center YAN Evelia Gutiérrez’s story on “The Landscape”

Posted by

D2 Center Youth Academic Navigator (YAN) Evelia Gutiérrez shares her story on The Landscape from the Omaha Community Foundation. Below is a brief excerpt; you can listen to Evelia’s powerful story in its entirety here.

“…I think youth need to be engaged, because if we don’t get them, somebody will. If we are not influencing them in a positive way, there’s another world out there that’s doing it in a negative way, so it’s best if we work with our youth especially to engage them, to get them on the right path, to keep them off the streets. It has to start within you.”

Thank you Evelia for sharing your story, and for sharing your talents and experience with your students and the staff here at the D2 Center.
