Spotlight on Philadelphia Re-engagement Center: PBS Need to Know Video Segment

Check out this video from Need to Know on PBS about Philadelphia’s Project U-Turn and their efforts to re-engage out-of-school youth, including their re-engagement center, which opened in 2008.

As part of our participation in the Re-engagement Center Network, sponsored by the National League of Cities’ Institute for Youth, Education and Families, D2 Center staff is able to meet regularly — either virtually or in person — with staff and leadership from re-engagement centers across the country, including Philadelphia. This offers us the opportunity to learn from re-engagement centers that have been in operation for years, in contrast to the D2 Center, which was operating in limited pilot mode only one year ago, and fully opened our doors in fall of 2011. Here’s to many more years of supporting our community’s youth in their efforts to re-engage in the pathway to a high school diploma!
