NE School Mental Health Conference, June 2022

Posted by

D2 Center Youth Academic Navigators (YANs) Yaneth Mares (left) and Evelia Gutiérrez (right) attended the Nebraska School Mental Health Conference June 1-2, 2022.

Key takeaways from Yaneth:

“The conference had great keynote speakers and breakout sessions. The speakers touched on the importance of discussing mental health and suicide at schools, the effects on students’ mental health during the pandemic, and tips for professionals working with students. They also talked about SEBL (Social Emotional Behavioral Learning) at schools to establish solid foundations for successful students. The conference ended with a fantastic panel of students who gave everyone their insight into the importance of having one-on-one and open conversations at schools about mental health and suicide.”
